Introduction

Hi Bush League,

We’re back in baseball season! That means the blog is back too, and I’ll be writing this season for as long as I have time to do so.

To kick us off, I did some number crunching with a handful of projection systems to see where our teams stack up. It was a blissful exercise until it became clear that the projections hate my team, then it dialed back to merely enjoyable. Some notes on how this works:

• I checked our teams using BAT X/BAT, ZiPS, Steamer, and ATC
• Only starting line-ups are considered, so in some cases I had to make a best guess as to who your starters are as opposed to bench guys
• Projections were grabbed around the 21st of March, these rankings are a snapshot of what was projected at that time
• Projections are always hilariously wrong, so don’t get bummed out (this is a private bullet intended for me only, please do not read)

Andy takes the overall top spot thanks to ZiPS straight up housing Matt with a 6th place finish. It’ll be fun to take a look back at seasons end to see how close we got here. If I have time I’ll do a more thorough analysis on the numbers, but for now I’ll let you guys draw your own conclusions
